Life Model

Understand how your life evolves

Every day we live hundreds of moments, make countless decisions and spend our time across many different areas of life.

Most of them disappear almost immediately from our memory.

Life Model brings them back together.

It combines your recorded time, your goals and your health context into a single view, helping you understand how your life is evolving over time.

It is not designed to judge your life.

Its purpose is to help you observe it.

Over weeks, months and years, small patterns become visible that are almost impossible to notice day by day.

Choosing a period

At the top of the screen you can choose whether to explore:

  • Week

  • Month

  • Year

Use the arrows to move backwards and forwards through time.

Each period represents a different level of perspective.

A week helps you understand your recent habits.

A month begins to reveal recurring patterns.

A year shows how your life has evolved over a much longer period.

Your current focus

The first card highlights the three areas that received the largest share of your time during the selected period.

Rather than showing every category equally, it helps you immediately recognise what has been most important recently.

This often provides a surprisingly accurate snapshot of where your attention has actually gone.

Your goals

Your goals provide context.

They remind you what you intended to focus on during the selected week, month or year.

Life Model does not measure whether you achieved them.

Instead, it allows you to compare your intentions with the way your time was actually spent.

Sometimes they align.

Sometimes they reveal opportunities to make small adjustments.

Health context

Health influences every part of life.

The Health card summarises your average daily:

  • Sleep

  • Movement

  • Exercise

  • Standing hours

  • Daylight exposure

These values do not change the distribution of your time.

Instead, they provide context that can help explain why some periods felt easier, harder, more productive or more demanding than others.

Your Life Model

The Life Model chart shows how your recorded time has been distributed across your different areas of life.

Each colour represents one area.

The larger the section, the greater the proportion of your time spent there.

This is not intended to describe a “perfect” balance.

Every period of life is different.

Some weeks naturally revolve around work.

Others around family, health or travel.

The chart simply helps you see what happened.

Explore your areas

Below the chart you’ll find all of your areas ordered by the amount of time they received.

Selecting an area opens a more detailed view where you can explore:

  • the lists inside that area

  • the activities that contributed to it

  • the time invested in each one

This allows you to move naturally from the big picture down to the individual events that created it.

Unassigned items

Sometimes Life Model finds activities that cannot yet be associated with one of your lists.

These appear in the Unassigned section.

Reviewing and classifying them helps your Life Model become more accurate over time.

Premium users can classify these items automatically.

Your model evolves with you

The areas and lists created during setup are only a starting point.

They are designed to help you begin using CROSSNote immediately.

Over time you can rename them, reorganise them or create entirely new ones.

Life Model adapts to the way you organise your life—not the other way around.

A living picture of your life

Life Model is not a productivity score.

It is not a report card.

It is not trying to tell you how you should live.

Its goal is much simpler.

To help you understand where your time goes, how your priorities evolve and how the different dimensions of your life relate to one another.

Over time, those insights become one of the most valuable parts of your personal history.
