The Add button
The + button in the top-right corner gives you quick access to actions you may want to start from My day.
These actions are not only for creating tasks. They are designed to help you capture what is happening, regulate your attention, check in with yourself, or add something meaningful to your day with as little friction as possible.
Quick capture
The three quick capture buttons let you save something immediately.
You can record your voice, take a photo, or write a quick note.
These are for the moments when something appears and you do not want to lose it: an idea, a thought, a reminder, a feeling, a conversation, or something you may want to return to later.
The main note button opens the full note screen, where you can create a richer record with more detail and context.
New bookmarked notes
The four lower note actions create bookmarked notes.
This means they are automatically kept visible in My ideas and to-dos, so you can find them again without needing to classify, schedule, or organize them immediately.
They are also always stored in My library, like every CROSSNote record.
This supports a simple idea: capture first, organize later.
Pomodoro and Focus
Pomodoro and Focus are core self-regulation tools.
They are especially useful when attention, activation, transitions, or task initiation are difficult.
You can use them freely, whenever you need them, without attaching them to a specific task.
Pomodoro gives you a timed structure.
Focus lets you mark a period of intentional attention without turning it into a strict timer.
They are not there to pressure you into doing more.
They are there to help you begin, stay with something, or give shape to a moment of attention.
Meditation and body check-ins
Some actions are connected to self-care and your nervous system.
You can add a meditation session, start a PPG measurement, or use a Polar-based measurement, depending on your setup.
The meditation button is simply a quick way to record a meditation session and keep track of it over time. It is placed here to make the action easy to access and to gently encourage the habit of checking in with yourself.
PPG and Polar actions are used for HRV (Heart Rate Variability) measurements. All collected HRV data can be reviewed in Health → Main, where you can see current values, detailed information, and the intra-day evolution of your measurements.
These tools invite you to check in with yourself beyond automatic tracking.
Instead of only collecting background data, CROSSNote gives you ways to actively notice how you are doing: your body, your stress, your recovery, your regulation, and your presence. Meditation sessions are simply recorded so you can keep track of them over time, and they are also saved to Apple Health. Meditation sessions entered manually in CROSSNote do not generate HRV data. However, if you use the Mindfulness app on an Apple Watch, Apple can generate HRV measurements during those sessions, making it one of the easiest ways to collect HRV data if you have an Apple Watch.
Over time, these records can help you understand yourself better.
