2. Data We Collect

CROSSNote is designed to minimize data collection. Most of your data is stored locally on your device and in your personal iCloud account.

2.1 Data Stored on Your Device and iCloud

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and within your personal iCloud account:

  • Notes and written content

  • Calendar data and associated information

  • Health and wellness data (such as HRV, sleep, heart rate, activity, and derived insights)

  • App-generated metrics (readiness, recovery, stress, and similar indicators)

We do not store this data on our servers.

2.2 Analytics Data

We may collect limited, non-sensitive analytics data using services such as Mixpanel. This may include:

  • Feature usage

  • Interaction patterns

  • Performance metrics

This data:

  • does not include your personal content

  • does not include health data

  • is minimized and pseudonymized where possible

2.3 AI Interaction Data

When you use AI-powered features:

  • Some input data may be processed by external AI providers

  • This data is transmitted through a secure proxy

  • Direct identifiers and technical metadata (such as device or account details) are removed or minimized where possible

Only the data strictly necessary to provide the requested functionality is transmitted.

3. How We Use Data

We use data strictly to:

  • Provide the core functionality of the App

  • Generate insights and visualizations

  • Improve app performance and usability (via analytics)

  • Enable AI-powered features

We do not use your data for advertising.

We do not use your data for profiling unrelated to the app’s functionality.

AI-generated outputs are provided for informational purposes only.

Because CROSSNote does not store your personal data on its own servers:

  • Data remains on your device and iCloud until you delete it

Deleting data from your device or iCloud results in permanent deletion.

Analytics data may be retained by third-party providers according to their own retention policies.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights including:

  • Correction of your data

  • Deletion of your data

  • Restriction of processing

In most cases, you can exercise these rights directly through your device or iCloud account.

CROSSNote is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on our website.
